Citizenship by investment
Citizenship by investment grants full nationality in return for an approved contribution or investment, giving your family a second passport and wider freedom of travel.
Overview
A second citizenship is one of the most enduring decisions a family can make. It offers greater freedom of travel, a place of refuge in uncertain times and a nationality that can pass to future generations.
We advise on the five established programmes of the Caribbean, Dominica, Grenada, St Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda and Saint Lucia, and on Vanuatu in the Pacific. We explain candidly what a second citizenship will mean for your existing nationality.
What it offers
A second passport
Full citizenship with a passport for you and eligible family members.
Greater travel freedom
Reduced visa requirements for travel to many countries.
Tax-neutral jurisdictions
St Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda and Vanuatu levy no personal income tax, and none of these countries charge wealth or inheritance tax.
Security for generations
Citizenship can generally be passed on to your descendants.
No residence required to qualify
You can apply without relocating, and in most cases without visiting beforehand.
Speed
Vanuatu can be completed in a few months; the Caribbean programmes typically within a year.

Questions clients ask
Will I need to give up my current citizenship?
That depends on your present nationality. Some countries, including India, do not permit dual citizenship. We explain the implications, including eligibility for Overseas Citizenship of India, before you proceed.
Are these programmes legitimate?
Yes. Each programme is established by the law of the country concerned and run by a government citizenship unit. Every applicant undergoes background checks.
Can my children and parents be included?
Most programmes include a spouse and dependent children, and many allow dependent parents and, in some cases, siblings.
Can citizenship be passed on?
Citizenship obtained through these programmes can generally be passed on to descendants in line with the country’s nationality law.
Will a second citizenship change my taxes?
Citizenship does not by itself change where you are tax resident. Your tax position depends on where you live and on the rules of your current country of residence.
